Chickenpox vaccination is available for anyone over 12 months old who hasn’t previously had the infection or vaccine. It helps protect against catching chickenpox and lowers the chance of complications. Price: £85 per vaccine dose.

It is particularly recommended for adults who have not previously had chickenpox, those planning a pregnancy who are not immune, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

The vaccine helps protect against infection and can lower the chances of complications from contracting chickenpox.

Most people only experience mild, short-lived side effects after the chickenpox vaccine.
These can include:
swelling or pain where the injection was given
a high temperature
a rash in the area where the injection was given or more widespread – it usually develops within 1 month of vaccination
Serious side effects are very rare, but severe allergic reactions can happen. Our practitioners are fully trained to recognise these reactions and provide immediate treatment. Check the NHS website for more information.

When you arrive, a trained clinician will carry out a short consultation to confirm the vaccine is suitable for you. They will ask about your medical history, allergies, and any current medications.
Once everything is confirmed, the vaccine will be given as a quick injection, usually into the upper arm.
Afterward, you’ll be asked to stay in the pharmacy for around 15 minutes so we can make sure you feel well before leaving.
We’ll also provide aftercare advice and answer any questions you may have about the vaccination.

Even if you don’t qualify for the NHS service our private service is available to anyone over 12 months.
