Hair loss can occur for many reasons, it’s often harmless, but sometimes it signals an underlying condition. Our services can help identify the cause and support healthier hair growth.
-
Hair loss is natural and typically isn’t something to worry about, we lose between 50 - 100 hairs a day on average.
Some cases of hair loss are permanent, such as male pattern baldness. This type of hair loss is genetic.
Other cases are temporary, and can be caused by:
an illness
stress
cancer treatment
weight loss
thyroid problems
iron deficiency
-
If you find an excessive amount of hair on your pillow, shower or bath, or when styling your hair, it could indicate that you are losing your hair.
A receding hairline, a thinning crown or general thinning throughout the top area of the head are common signs of male pattern baldness. Male pattern baldness doesn’t affect the sides or back of the hair.
-
Temporary hair loss is often reversible, particularly when treated early. However, male pattern baldness and cicatricial alopecia are generally not reversible, though they can be managed and slowed with medical or cosmetic treatments.
-
When you arrive, our pharmacist will start with a brief consultation to review your medical history and ensure the treatment is safe for you. This will take place in a private, confidential setting.
