You can get the MenB vaccine at a pharmacy if either:
you were born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008
you were born on or after 21 July 2001 and you're starting university, or starting at some further education colleges as a residential student, for the first time this autumn (including if you're an international student or a student from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man)

Meningitis symptoms often come on very quickly and may include:
a sudden high fever
nausea or vomiting
intense headache
a rash that doesn’t fade when pressed with a glass (though not everyone gets a rash)
stiffness in the neck
sensitivity to bright light
unusual drowsiness or difficulty waking
seizures or fits

During your consultation, our pharmacist will carry out a risk assessment to make sure it’s safe for you to have the vaccine.
If there are no concerns or reasons to delay, we’ll go ahead with the vaccination.
Afterward, we’ll share important safety advice and ask you to stay in the pharmacy for around 15 minutes so we can monitor for fainting or any rare side effects.

Yes, you can get this vaccine in our pharmacy privately if you don’t qualify for the NHS vaccination. Please pop into the pharmacy at a convenient time and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
