The MenACWY vaccine protects against meningitis and sepsis and is recommended for university students and required for Hajj or Umrah travel to Saudi Arabia.   • When you arrive at our pharmacy, our pharmacist will review your medical history and ensure the vaccine is safe for you.

    The vaccine is administered by injection into the upper arm.

    Once vaccinated, you will receive a certificate of vaccine administration, which is required for entry into Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, as well as seasonal workers.

    • Individuals who have previously had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to the MenACWY vaccine or any of its ingredients.

    • Anyone currently experiencing a moderate to severe illness with a high fever should postpone vaccination until they have recovered.

  • The most common side effects of the MenACWY vaccine are mild and do not last long.

    They can include:

    • a reaction where the injection was given, such as pain, swelling or itchiness

    • headache

    • feeling sick (nausea)

    • a rash

    • feeling irritable

    • feeling drowsy

    • loss of appetite

    • generally feeling unwell
